There's an old saying, "If it's not broken, don't fix it." The official website for Minecraft (not Mojang's website, Minecraft.net) has barely changed since 2011. Seriously, go look at a snapshot of Minecraft.net from January 2011. For one of the most profitable video games in history, it's website doesn't show it.
Minecraft has a global audience, but it's website is only presented in English. This can create a problem for international gamers who can't read English very well, but Mojang is starting to fix that. Mojang updated Minecraft's website today to support 14 languages, 12 new currencies, and more payment options. However, these changes only apply to the Buy page on Minecraft.net.
Perhaps even better is the news of Minecraft.net's upcoming revamp. Mojang wrote, "The Mojang Web Force is working on a completely revamped version of minecraft.net that will be fully localized." Hopefully the website won't look like the web developer was an intern for much longer.
