Minecraft Wii U Edition is making a big splash with Nintendo fans, despite it's limitations. According to Nintendo's website, Minecraft: Wii U Edition is already the 9th best-selling Wii U game sold through the eShop - in Japan at least.
If you're unfamiliar with Nintendo's recent consoles, the eShop is the online game store for their Wii U and 3DS consoles. Wii U Edition is still behind eight other Wii U games including Splatoon, Dragon Quest X, Pokemon Scramble U, Super Mario Maker, Art Academy: SketchPad, Mario Kart 8, and Super Mario World.
Considering Minecraft Wii U Edition has only been out for 10 days, the fact that it's in the top ten at all is impressive. If nothing else, it proves there is still demand for Minecraft on the Wii U, years after it arrived on competing platforms.
