Minecraft 1.7.7 released, adds support for future user name switching

There hasn't been much news from the PC Edition of Minecraft for a while, but today a small bug fix update was released. Minecraft 1.7.7 fixes a few bugs, but it's biggest improvement is support for user name changing. When Mojang adds support for user name switching in the near future, Minecraft 1.7.6 and above will be the only versions that can play online.

Unfortunately this time around, servers have to be updated before players using 1.7.7 can connect. So if you regularly play on a server that hasn't updated yet we recommend holding off on updating for now (or make another profile for 1.7.5). In addition, Minecraft 1.7.7 supports the new and improved skin servers, meaning loading skins should be faster while playing.

You can get the update through the Minecraft launcher.
