The official Minecraft Gameband keeps your worlds saved on your arm

Smartwatches, smartbands, and smart-other-things-you-can-wear are becoming more and more popular. This is why Now Computing, in partnership with Mojang, developed a smart wearable device called the 'Gameband + Minecraft'. On the surface, it looks a lot like the Nike FuelBand - but it has some useful features when it comes to Minecraft.

The main feature of the Gameband is that when you take it off, you can plug it into any computer and it becomes a way to play Minecraft anywhere you go. The band contains it's own copy of Minecraft, along with it's own worlds folder and other data. If you're familiar with PortableApps, this is pretty much exactly like that.

As Billy Mays said, "But wait, there's more!" It also includes maps by Sethbling, Hypixel and Dragonz on the gameband. Even better, it includes 'PixelFurnace', a program developed by Gameband to change what appears on the small screen on the band. Also for a separate subscription, the Gameband will backup your worlds to the cloud in case you lose your arm.

The Gameband ships for $99.99 at the source link below in two sizes. The software used for customizing the band and saving Minecraft worlds on the cloud only works with Windows, Mac, and Linux.

  3. *Afterthought* Or alternatively your could just grab one of your own USB drives, stick Minecraft and a few maps on it and all your missing is the cool LCD screen.

  4. Yay, an overpriced flash drive (probably only 2 or 4 GB), with Minecraft on it.

  5. But its a little overpriced? I could put minecraft on a flash drive... but i might get sued...Lol

  6. You won't get sued for putting anything on a flash drive.

  7. With all of the maps and stuff... it would be at least 8 GB

  8. I believe you need a certain kind of USB to put worlds on it. Not to mention this has the launcher along with it on the band.

  9. As Jontron would say,"WHAT!?!"

  10. It would make a lot more sense (and be easier) if worlds were saved to your profile. It would be similar to a Chromebook, or iCloud Drive.

  11. Also, there's the fact that you can't just use a normal USB drive, because normal drives have an extremely limited read/write amount, and are usually very slow.

  12. So does it come with Minecraft Premium?

  13. Yep thats why i would put it on a flash drive. xD
