While Mojang might not make a Minecraft 2, Mojang has one big surprise left for 2014. Today they announced 'Minecraft: Story Mode', a episode-based narrative-driven game. The game will take place in the world of Minecraft, and the first episode will be released early next year. Telltale was quick to say that the game does not explain the story of Steve (the player's character in Minecraft), and the storyline will not be cannon for Minecraft.
Developed by Telltale Studios, creators of popular titles such as The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead, this marks Mojang's second game developed by another company (the other being Cobalt).
Minecraft: Story Mode will be released on Xbox 360/One, PlayStation 3/4 (possibly Vita), PC, Mac, iOS, and Android next year. See the source link for the original post.
